dvd write problem
My burner is a Memorex DVD+RW/+R if that matters. No real idea other than that in safe mode it probably does not load whatever driver you may have installed. Try removing the normal mode driver and see what XP will do with it that way. Then check for any updated XP drivers from the manufacturer. Alan.

These types of programs have "features" that force a CD/DVD burner to see recordable media as if the media were NOT recordable. Uninstalling the drivers does not help. I can't tell exactly when this problem started, but I can say that these drives have been burning CDs and DVDs for years without a hitch.

If you do go out and get a "CD-Burner" don't waste your time with just CD .. get a "DVD burner" which are usually backward compatible
